Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 2 tsp Dill, Finely Chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • ¼ cup hummus
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • ½ cup nonfat greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Olive OIl
  • ¼ cup parsley, chopped
  • 2 tsp Pepper
  • 4 whole-wheat pitas
  • ¼ Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tomato, cut into ¼ inch slices, then halved
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • ½ yellow onion, finely chopped

Cooking Instructions


Step 1

  • Mix the ground turkey with the yellow onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, parsley, egg, 2 tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper. Make sure they are evenly distributed. Make into 1 inch thick patties.

  • Add olive oil to frying pan over medium high heat. Once hot, place some of the turkey patties and cook 4 minutes per side. Cook in batches until all are finished. Set aside.Meanwhile, make tzatziki. In a small bowl, add Greek yogurt, dill, lemon juice, and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.To make pitas, place 2 turkey patties into each pita pocket half.
